Eco Apps 
A team activity that combines learning about four key environmental issues and finding solutions within a business context.  This challenge gives teams the opportunity to be creative and entrepreneurial.

Years 5-10
What is it? 
A team activity that combines learning about four key environmental issues and finding solutions within a business context.  This challenge gives teams the opportunity to be creative and entrepreneurial.

The workshop will cover: 
  • An introduction to four key environmental areas.
  • Students identify an issue to champion and work together to come up with ideas to highlight the issue or effect change.
  • Students identify a target audience, design an app and a marketing campaign.
The goals for the Eco App Challenge are to: 

  • Give students the opportunity to understand some of the environmental issues we are facing
  • Learn about app design and the creative process using paper wireframes
  • Practice some business skills, including teamwork, problem solving, creativity and communication
Requirements from the school:

  • This can be a whole year group challenge from 30 - 250 students
  • Hall (for initial presentation to large groups) and classrooms
  • Staff support for each class
  • Select a teacher to lead the Eco Group, monitor school electricity usage using EcoDriver and share with the students
  • Eco Group to meet regularly with a SATRO STEM Tutor to share progress and seek advice

How much does it cost? 
£250 for half day/£400 for full day.  Delivered by a STEM Tutor.  
Can be half day or full day.  Differentiated  by age and designed to fit with your timetable.
