What is it?
A team activity that combines learning about four key environmental issues and finding solutions within a business context. This challenge gives teams the opportunity to be creative and entrepreneurial.
The workshop will cover:
- An introduction to four key environmental areas.
- Students identify an issue to champion and work together to come up with ideas to highlight the issue or effect change.
- Students identify a target audience, design an app and a marketing campaign.
The goals for the Eco App Challenge are to:
- Give students the opportunity to understand some of the environmental issues we are facing
- Learn about app design and the creative process using paper wireframes
- Practice some business skills, including teamwork, problem solving, creativity and communication
Requirements from the school:
- This can be a whole year group challenge from 30 - 250 students
- Hall (for initial presentation to large groups) and classrooms
- Staff support for each class
- Select a teacher to lead the Eco Group, monitor school electricity usage using EcoDriver and share with the students
- Eco Group to meet regularly with a SATRO STEM Tutor to share progress and seek advice
How much does it cost?
£250 for half day/£400 for full day. Delivered by a STEM Tutor.
Can be half day or full day. Differentiated by age and designed to fit with your timetable.
